WHAT THIS IS?

The Creative Writing Residency is a one-of-a-kind, immersive experience with Ananse Cultural Arts, where campers will spend a significant portion of their day engaged in storytelling, writing, and creative expression; while still participating in the Camps by KT experience.

This is not just a class; it is a featured residency experience woven into the week.

Camps by KT is joining forces with Ananse Cultural Arts to present:

Architects of the Air: The Blueprint for Flight

We aren’t just writing stories; we’re drafting blueprints for greatness. Inspired by the legendary “flying” narratives of The People Could Fly and Tar Beach, campers will become the architects of their own imagination. From mapping out “magic words” to designing rhythmic anthems of resilience, your child will learn that every great achievement starts with a solid plan—and ends with the courage to take flight.

Join the Weaver’s Workshop. Build your blueprint. Claim the sky.

    • Guided creative writing sessions and storytelling.

    • Imagination-building and expressive writing activities.

    • Exploration of rhythm, voice, and narrative. Opportunities to create original pieces.

    • A supportive environment that builds confidence and creativity.

  • Campers will participate in the residency for a significant portion of each day. The experience is integrated into Blueprint for Greatness Week. Campers will also enjoy select Camps by KT activities throughout the day

  • This experience is available to:

    • Campers enrolled in Blueprint for Greatness Week

    • Junior Camp Counselors (as part of their leadership and enrichment experience)

  • Builds confidence through self-expression. Strengthens writing and communication skills. Encourages creativity, imagination, and critical thinking. Helps children connect ideas to vision and purpose.

  • Not at all. The Creative Writing Residency is thoughtfully integrated into the camp day, allowing campers to participate in both the residency experience and key Camps by KT activities throughout the week. This is a blended experience, meaning your child will still enjoy the energy, creativity, and fun of camp; while also benefiting from a more focused, immersive writing experience.
