You’ve got to experience it to believe it! Camps by KT is an engaging day camp program designed for children to learn in a fun, and inspirational way. We have curated a well-rounded program that allows youth to grow, bond, and go through a self discovery journey. At Camps by KT, we are all about having fun, new experiences, community, laughter, and educational fun. We provide the ultimate experience for children as they enjoy the great “Camps by KT.”
Our Mission.
At “Camps by KT” we strive to nurture the youth to become well-rounded individuals through educational, and fun hands-on programs that cultivate creativity. We are on a mission to empower youth to grow physically, mentally and emotionally; to achieve their own version of success. To equip learners with diverse skills that empower them to navigate life’s unchartered territories, and thrive.
Curriculum Entities.
Camps by KT offers Empowerment, Public Speaking, Arts, Science, Engineering, Culinary, Physical Activity and of course FUN, FUN, and FUN! Knowing the importance of our youths understanding of the many elements that the world has to offer, we have decided to create a program that is not only fun, but also a powerful movement of awareness for our youth.
Our History.
Goodness where do we begin?!?! Well, in 2007 we began contracting with daycares such as Kids R Kids, Children’s Lighthouse, and Primrose providing enrichment services. In 2010, we began sub-contracting with Houston ISD, and Pasadena ISD; providing after school enrichment. Some of the schools that were served; River Oaks Elementary, Oak Forest Elementary, Mark Twain Elementary, and Valley West Elementary! We also began to lead summer art classes at Lone Star College. Throughout all duration of services, Camps by KT has been hosting seasonal, and summer youth day camps in the Fort Bend County area!

Meet Kellie Thomas, Founder of Camps by KT

Hello, I’m Kellie Thomas; Founder of Camps by KT, and an Education Director! I absolutely adore illuminating a child's smile with priceless memories!
As a youth development visionary, I am fueled by a passion for helping children elevate and thrive in life. My Great-Great Grandfather, J.R.E. Lee served as the third president of Florida A&M University (FAMU) and also founded the National Association of Colored Teachers. My Great Grandfather, Dr. Joseph Thomas was a pioneering entrepreneur, and philanthropist that developed Turners Station of Baltimore, MD! With that being said I come from four generations of passionate educators, entrepreneurs, activist, and philanthropist…it’s no wonder why youth and community development are my first love!
With 15 years of experience in youth development, I apply my research from the education sector, cognitive and behavioral psychology, and adolescent development to create an unique, and fun learning environment to engage children. I love what I do; witnessing laughter, chosen learning, and growth from children is my camp inspiration. I feel as if youth camp experiences needed to be rewritten. Camp should be the ultimate “can’t wait” experience full of enlightenment, community, and extraordinary fun!
As the Owner of Camps by KT, I strive to educate, and nurture children to become well-rounded individuals through educational and fun hands-on experiences that cultivate, and inspire creativity. I am on a mission to empower children and teenagers to grow physically, mentally and emotionally so that they may achieve their own version of success; one camp week at a time!
Camps by KT staff.
Ensuring the best camp staff is a priority! All staff from Camps by KT are passionate individuals who have been hand-selected! Our staff has experience working with children and has received extensive training to guide campers in the vision and values of Camps by KT.
All staff are either certified teachers, college students, or overachieving Juniors and Seniors of High School (that are enrolled in our TEEN leadership program; requirements are 3.2 GPA or higher, A/B grades, perfect conduct).
All our staff has gone through an extensive criminal, and sex offender background check, CPR and FIRST AID training, Sexual Abuse Prevention course, and have been trained to guide campers in the vision, and values of Camps by KT.
