You’ve got to experience it to believe it! Camps by KT is an engaging day camp program designed for children to learn in a fun, and inspirational way. We have curated a well-rounded program that allows youth to grow, bond, and go through a self discovery journey. At Camps by KT, we are all about having fun, new experiences, community, laughter, and educational fun. We provide the ultimate experience for children as they enjoy the great “Camps by KT.”
Our Mission.
At “Camps by KT” we strive to nurture the youth to become well-rounded individuals through educational, and fun hands-on programs that cultivate creativity. We are on a mission to empower youth to grow physically, mentally and emotionally; to achieve their own version of success. To equip learners with diverse skills that empower them to navigate life’s unchartered territories, and thrive.
Curriculum Entities.
Camps by KT offers Empowerment, Public Speaking, Arts, Science, Engineering, Culinary, Physical Activity and of course FUN, FUN, and FUN! Knowing the importance of our youths understanding of the many elements that the world has to offer, we have decided to create a program that is not only fun, but also a powerful movement of awareness for our youth.
Our History.
Goodness where do we begin?!?! Well, in 2007 we began contracting with daycares such as Kids R Kids, Children’s Lighthouse, and Primrose providing enrichment services. In 2010, we began sub-contracting with Houston ISD, and Pasadena ISD; providing after school enrichment. Some of the schools that were served; River Oaks Elementary, Oak Forest Elementary, Mark Twain Elementary, and Valley West Elementary! We also began to lead summer art classes at Lone Star College. Throughout all duration of services, Camps by KT has been hosting holiday, and youth summer day camps in the Fort Bend County area!

Meet Kellie Thomas, Founder of Camps by KT
Meet Kellie Thomas; the dynamic force behind several impactful ventures. As the owner of Camps by KT, an acclaimed youth camp program, and co-founder of LifeLung Nonprofit, dedicated to lung cancer advocacy, Kellie's commitment to youth development is evident. She also spearheads the Camps by KT for All Foundation and serves as Education Director at John Gray Ministries of LoveStory Church. Additionally, she directs Camp H-Town with the Four Seasons Houston Hotel.
With a rich familial heritage steeped in education, entrepreneurship, activism, and philanthropy, Kellie draws inspiration from four generations of trailblazers. Her lineage includes J.R.E. Lee, the third president of Florida A&M University and founder of the National Association of Teachers, as well as Dr. Joseph Thomas, a pioneering entrepreneur and philanthropist.
With over 15 years of experience in youth development, Kellie leverages insights from education, cognitive psychology, and adolescent development to craft engaging and enriching experiences for children. For her, the joy of witnessing children laugh, learn, and grow fuels her passion for reshaping the youth camp landscape. She envisions camps as transformative spaces brimming with enlightenment, community, and boundless fun.
As the driving force behind Camps by KT, Kellie is on a mission to empower children and teenagers to flourish physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through hands-on experiences that blend education with fun, she fosters creativity and nurtures well-rounded individuals. With each camp week, Kellie endeavors to ignite the spark of success in young hearts and minds.
Camps by KT staff.
Ensuring the best camp staff is priority! All staff from Camps by KT are passionate individuals who have been hand selected! Our staff have experience working with children and have received extensive training to guide campers in the vision and values of Camps by KT.
All staff are either certified teachers, Education Majors, or over achieving Juniors and Seniors of High School (that are enrolled in our TEEN leadership program; requirements are 3.2 GPA or higher, A/B grades, perfect conduct).
All our staff has gone through an extensive criminal, and sex offender background check, CPR and FIRST AID training, Sexual Abuse Prevention course, and have been trained to guide campers in the vision, and values of Camps by KT.
